  1. Care instructions for your handmade ceramics

Please take good care of your handmade ceramics. All products from Ginkgo Studio are food safe and dishwasher safe. However, I recommend handwashing as that will extend the life and quality of your pieces. 

Dishwashers with its jostling, hot water and the use of harsh detergent will cause abrasion and extra wear and tear to your pieces. If you are in a hurry, I recommend using an environmentally safe, gentle detergend and using low heat cleaning fuction.

Avoid placing the ceramic pieces in extreme hot or cold environments such as the oven, microwave or freezer as this may cause thermal shock and result in breaking of the pieces.

I adore leaving my pieces naturally textured raw on the outside or using matte glazes. This makes the pieces more porous than glossy glazed ones. To retain the quality of your ceramics, I recommend using non abrasive cloth or sponge in warm soapy water. Rinse with clean water and then dry your piece off with a clean towel.

Please avoid staining your pieces, by not leaving leftover tea or coffee to remain in your cup for a long time. Strong colorants such as beet juice or turmeric golden latte may also stain.

Matte glazes are naturally prone to cutlery marks. These can be removed with vinegar and non-abrasive scrubbing sponge.

  1. Shipping + Packaging

At the moment I only ship within Switzerland. I ship twice a week. Usually on Monday and Thurday.

All items are shipped with Swiss Post and you will receive an email once your item is shipped with the tracking code which you can enter here to find the status of your shipment.  Items within Switzerland are sent with the ‘Fragile’ added service with Swiss Post, which costs CHF 7.- extra and means if your item is damaged during the shipment, Swiss Post accepts liability for the damage. If this occurs, you will need to report the damage within 8 days to your local Swiss Post branch (unfortunately it can only be reported from your end). The ordered products will always be carefully wrapped in environmentally conscious packaging material. I try to recycle most of the materials such as boxes, wrapping paper or newspaper.

If you would like to pick-up your purchase in person, this option will be available to you at check-out.

My hope is that you will be overjoyed with your purchase.

I don’t accept returns, exchanges, or cancelleations but please contact me if you have any problems with your order.

If the item you received is defective or has been damaged during transit, please send me a message via my contact form.

Each piece is handmade and unique and therefore varies in size and shape slightly to each other and compared to the website photo. The pictures on the websites are just for reference. I hope you enjoy the beauty of these individual traits, which are part of the handcrafted process and make the item distinct and not mass-produced.

Collection of data:

When you make a purchase directly from me, from my online shop, sign up to my newsletter or book a course with me, I may need to collect your name, email address, shipping address, billing address and phone number. No sensitive information from customers/service users are collected. All payments through my online shop are completed using either PayPal or Stripe and therefore all payment data is stored by PayPal and Stripe. My newsletter is created and managed using Mailchimp. How is your information processed?

Your information is processed for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with me or the website.

  • To respond to user/customer inquiries

  • To fulfil and manage your orders

  • To arrange and organise courses

With whom is your personal information shared?

Aside from the services mentioned (PayPal, Mailchimp), your personal information will not be shared to any third party unless I am required to do so by law. This website does contain links to other third-party websites, and once you leave this website, you are no longer protected by this privacy policy.

How long is your personal information stored?

Your personal information will be kept for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. No purpose in this notice requires your information to be stored for more than two years.
